  1. High Attrition rate           Job-hopping is very high in IT professional. They may leave without giving required notice.

  2. Recruitment cycle time  Recruiting suitable staff will take time, many times selected candidate may not report for duty. 

  3. Right Person                    It is hard to get good candidates. IT professionals normally do not prefer to be an employee of non IT companies. This is due to work culture & to maintain employability in IT sector.

  4. Settling time      Understanding your IT resources, setup, network/ database/ server/ mail/etc and Understanding users, problems, IT suppliers, AMC contracts, etc will take time for new staff.

  5. Multi skill         Better utilization of IT resources requires specialization in hardware, networking, Servers, multi operating system, database, latest available technology, etc. It is rare to have all these skills in a person. Either you have to hire extra persons OR compromise with the performance.

  6. Standby Staff             No service in case your staff goes on leave or suddenly leaves the job. There are chances of entire team leaving job in a short notice.

  7. Extra resource          It is difficult to deploy extra staff in case of crisis like network problem, virus attach to all systems and temporary additional work,

  8. No Technology update    Same setup, users and problems, Lower expectation / work demand, No challenging job. With this environment IT professional normally do not update their technology. 

  9. Dependency            You are fully dependent on a person/s, But not a professional team and organization. 

  10. Option to change   IT is a fast changing technology. It is difficult to change your IT staff when technology changes OR if your staffs are not up to organization’s expectation.
